Well Sandy, it may be a long long time since you left our family & I have no picture bar the one's
in my memory & heart. What a fabulous little whippet you were. I still remember how you used to put
your head on my lap when you knew I felt sad or how you used to make sure that at 9 pm on the dot,
you'd sit watching whoever was sat in YOUR seat to make sure it was turned into your bed for the
evening! I especially remember that horrible Christmas when my Dad took you to the vet's and came
back with just your lead. Kidney failure my Dad said - but I never got to say goodbye. It makes me
so sad to this day. :(

I woke early this morning, lifted the shade
to a sky overcast and gray.
No ray of sun to brighten my heart,
and I thought of you today.
The breezes of summer are no more
and have moved along on their way.
The crisp air of autumn has settled in,
and I thought of you today.
The crunch of the leaves under my feet,
I remembered how you loved to play,
chasing the leaves across the yard,

As the daylight faded into dusk
and the shadows came to play,
I lit a candle and watched the flame dance,

I crawled into bed, turned out the lamp
